Those first days with your baby pass by so quickly. The tiny fingers, sleepy cuddles, newborn expressions and the way they fit perfectly into your arms are moments you'll want to remember.

My newborn photography sessions in Dorset are calm, relaxed and completely focused on your family. Rather than creating lots of posed or overly styled photographs, I take a natural, lifestyle-led approach, capturing the genuine moments and connections between parents, siblings and your new baby.

These sessions are about documenting what this time really feels like, the warmth, love, emotion and little details that make those early days so special.

Your newborn photography session

Your newborn session is relaxed and baby-led, with plenty of time for cuddles, feeding, settling and all the little moments that naturally happen when you have a new baby.

There's no need to worry about your baby sleeping throughout the session or everything going perfectly. Babies are unpredictable, and that's absolutely fine. I'll work around your baby and allow things to unfold naturally.

Sessions can take place in the comfort of your own home or at a suitable outdoor location in Dorset, depending on what feels right for your family.

Parents and siblings are very much part of the story too. As well as photographs of your baby, I'll capture the connections between you, those cuddles, tiny hands, proud siblings and all the moments you'll want to remember.

When should you book your newborn session?

If you're still pregnant, I usually recommend scheduling your newborn session for around 1–2 weeks after your due date.

Don't worry if your baby arrives earlier or later than expected. Once your baby has arrived, simply get in touch and we'll move your session to a date that works for you.

If your baby has already arrived and you're considering a newborn session, you can still book or get in touch. There's no need to worry that you've missed your opportunity.

What to wear

I recommend soft, neutral colours that coordinate naturally and keep the focus on your family and your connection with your baby.

There's no need for everyone to match perfectly. Choose comfortable clothes that you feel good wearing and that allow you to cuddle and interact naturally.

A note about locations

Sessions can take place anywhere within Dorset. If you'd like your session to take place outside Dorset, please contact me before booking.

If I accept a location outside Dorset, any additional travel will be invoiced separately at a rate of 50p per additional mile.
