Pregnancy is such a special and fleeting chapter of your story. Maternity photography is a beautiful way to celebrate your growing family and document the anticipation, connection and excitement before your baby arrives.

My maternity photography sessions in Dorset are relaxed, natural and connection-focused. I'll gently guide you into flattering poses when needed, while also capturing the natural candid moments, laughter and little interactions that happen along the way.

Whether it's just the two of you, your growing family or your first pregnancy, these sessions are about creating timeless photographs that capture this moment in your journey into motherhood.

Your maternity photography session

Dorset has so many beautiful locations for maternity photography, from beaches and cliffs to woodland, countryside and open fields. We can choose a location that suits you and the feel you'd like from your photographs.

Your session will be relaxed and informal, with gentle direction throughout so you never have to worry about knowing what to do in front of the camera.

Partners and children are very welcome to be part of your session too. Capturing the connection between you and your family as you prepare to welcome your new baby can make these photographs even more meaningful.

When should you book your maternity session?

I recommend booking your maternity photography session for when you're around 28–34 weeks pregnant. At this stage your bump is usually beautifully prominent and rounded, while you're hopefully still feeling comfortable enough to enjoy your session.

Every pregnancy is different, though, so if you have a particular date or stage of pregnancy in mind, please get in touch and we can chat about what would work best for you.

What to wear

I recommend soft, neutral colours that complement the natural surroundings and keep the focus on you and your connection with your family. I have several open-fronted maternity dresses in my client wardrobe in a wide range of sizes. Please contact me either before or after booking your session if you wish to use one.

Most importantly, choose something you feel comfortable and confident moving around in. I'll be happy to offer suggestions if you're unsure what to wear.

If you prefer not to have your photographs shared on my website or social media, that's absolutely fine. Just let me know before booking and I can amend the relevant section of your contract.

A note about locations

Sessions can take place anywhere within Dorset. If you'd like your session to take place outside Dorset, please contact me before booking.

If I accept a location outside Dorset, any additional travel will be invoiced separately at a rate of 50p per additional mile.
