Dorset has some beautiful beaches for maternity photography, and I love using the natural surroundings rather than making the photographs feel overly posed. Bare feet in the sand, walking along the shoreline, sitting together and simply enjoying being with each other can create some of the most beautiful images.
The colours of the coast work beautifully with maternity photographs too. Soft sand, blue skies and natural textures create a simple backdrop that keeps the focus on you and your growing family.

There’s a reason photographers love golden hour! The light becomes softer and warmer as the sun starts to set, creating a beautiful glow across the beach. It’s particularly lovely for maternity sessions, especially when the light catches your bump and the two of you are walking along the water together.
Of course, we don't have to spend the whole session posing and looking at the camera. In fact, I’d much rather you didn't!
