Caileigh & Will

There are some photography sessions that feel extra special, and this one definitely falls into that category.

I recently spent a beautiful afternoon at Lulworth Cove in Dorset photographing Caileigh and Will for their engagement shoot. And, as Caileigh happens to be my cousin, this one was particularly close to my heart.

There is something quite special about being able to photograph a couple you already know and love, but even more special when you're able to capture such an exciting chapter in their lives.

Engagement photography at Lulworth Cove

Lulworth Cove is one of those Dorset locations that never seems to get old.

The dramatic coastline, beautiful blue sea and natural textures of the landscape create an incredible backdrop for couples photography, and there are so many different little spots to explore.

We made the most of the surroundings, from sitting together overlooking the water to wandering along the coastline and simply enjoying being together.

And honestly, I think that's what makes these photographs work so well.

They don't feel like a series of carefully posed engagement photographs.

They feel like Caileigh and Will.

There is laughter, affection, a little bit of silliness and plenty of love.

Capturing the moments in between

My favourite photographs are often the ones that happen in between the poses.

The moment Will kisses Caileigh on the cheek and she can't stop smiling.

The two of them sitting together with their hands intertwined.

The laughter.

The little glances.

The moments where they forget I'm even there.

These are the photographs that tell the story of a relationship rather than simply documenting what a couple looks like.

And there were plenty of those moments during this session.

A little champagne and a lot of happiness

We also brought along some champagne to celebrate their engagement, which seemed rather fitting!

There is something lovely about slowing down and celebrating these moments. An engagement is such a wonderful in-between stage, you've made the decision to spend your lives together, but you're not quite married yet.

It's a chapter worth documenting and remembering.

And what better place to celebrate than overlooking the Dorset coastline, especially when it means something to them as a couple?

dorset engagement photography that's about you

Your engagement photos don't have to be serious all the time.

They can be playful.

They can involve laughing until your cheeks hurt.

They can involve champagne, windy hair and trying not to fall over on the rocks.

And they can simply be about spending time together somewhere beautiful.

When I photograph couples, my aim isn't to turn you into models.

I want you to be able to look back at your photographs and recognise your relationship in them.

Whether you're naturally affectionate, a little awkward in front of the camera, constantly laughing together or prefer quieter moments, I'll guide you when you need it and let things unfold naturally when you don't.

Because the best photographs often happen when you stop worrying about the camera.

You just need to be together.

And Caileigh and Will made that incredibly easy.

A special one for me

Photographing Caileigh and Will at Lulworth Cove was a particularly special experience because I wasn't just photographing two clients, I was photographing family.

Being able to document this chapter of Caileigh's life, and to see the happiness between the two of them, was something I'll always be grateful for.

And I can't wait to see where their story takes them next.

Caileigh and Will, thank you for letting me capture this little chapter for you. I hope these photographs always bring you back to this beautiful Dorset coastline, this moment in time, and all the excitement of being engaged.
